Founded by Cat Thorogood in 2001 after she became frustrated by the lack of care for the environment and ethical practices, Maik's mission is to create sustainably sourced and ethically produced products, and it really has thought of everything. Their wood is sourced from sustainably managed forests, they only use organic and Oeko-Tex cotton, all the elements of their packaging are 100 per cent biodegradable and recyclable and even their protective filling is made from potato starch. Oh, and of course all its products are seriously stylish.
